Emergency care
Emergency dentistry in Billerica
If you’re in pain right now, call us at (978) 663-3010. We hold time in the schedule for urgent problems and will do everything we can to see you the same day.
Call before you come in
Most dental emergencies worsen with waiting. A tooth that needs a simple filling today can need a crown or a root canal a month from now. If something hurts, cracked, or came loose, call us first — a short conversation is usually enough to determine whether you need to be seen today, later in the week, or at a regular appointment.
Calls are answered by a member of our staff, not an answering service or a call center.
What it costs
An emergency cannot be quoted accurately over the phone, because the treatment depends on the diagnosis. A toothache caused by a cavity is a filling. The same pain from an infected nerve is a root canal and a crown.
We will examine the tooth, explain what we find, and provide a written estimate before any treatment begins. If insurance is involved, we will submit a pre-estimate so your out-of-pocket share is known in advance.
Common questions
Can you see me today?
We'll do everything we can. We keep room in the schedule for urgent problems, so call (978) 663-3010 as early in the day as you can — the earlier you call, the more options we have.
What counts as a dental emergency?
Pain that keeps you up, facial swelling, a knocked-out or badly broken tooth, bleeding that won't stop, or a lost crown or filling on a tooth that now hurts. If you're not sure, call and ask.
Should I go to the emergency room instead?
Go to the ER for trauma to the jaw or face, uncontrolled bleeding, or swelling that affects your breathing, swallowing, or vision. A hospital can manage those; for the tooth itself, you'll still need a dentist.
I'm not a current patient. Can I still be seen?
Yes. We see emergency patients who have never been here before.
